About the Colma Historical Association

The Colma Historical Association (CHA) was incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization on July 26, 1993, to preserve and protect the unique heritage of the Town of Colma. One of the original purposes of the CHA was to provide a home for the historical Colma train depot that was donated by the Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART).

When first established, the Association was located in the Colma Town Hall. In 1995, an office and mini-museum were relocated to a trailer in the parking lot of the Town Hall. On November 29, 2003, the Association moved into the former Olivet Cemetery office building built in 1910. Now completely restored, it is one of four buildings housing the museum collection. The others are the historic Colma Train Depot, the freight shed, and a reproduction Blacksmith shop.
